Hiking

Information about Hiking at LPC

Lake Paupac hikers experience forest, Lake views, fields, and history.

The Club maintains a number of walking and hiking trails on the property.

Lake Paupac adjoins Promised Land State Park on the east. The Park has an extensive trail system. Trail maps with descriptions and suggested routes are posted in the Lodge. The historic hiking map from 1982 may be interesting. While not all trails are active, and blaze markings do not match the colors on the map, this will give a great overview of the hiking opportunities at the Lake.

Hikers should take GPS or compass devices with them, wear hiking clothes and footwear, and take appropriate precautions to protect against insects, particularly ticks, and sunlight. Also see this community presentation about ticks.

Not all locations on the property receive quality cellphone signals.

Hiking during non-summer months can reflect additional hazards; speak with the Resident Manager for additional information. Off-season hazards for hikers can include severe weather situations and active hunting seasons.

Other than the Park, all surrounding properties are private land. Please observe their prohibitions and no-trespassing signs!

Most Paupac trails are for foot traffic only; please check the biking information if you are looking for bike routes.
